Are you an experienced Systems Architect with a working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, of IP-based mobile networking technologies and satellite systems? Then this role could be for you

Our client who has been at the forefront of global mobile satellite communications for over forty years is looking for an experienced Principal Systems Architect who has  Extensive experience of architecting IP networked systems, including IPv6.

Working within my client’s Chief Technology Office, you will be able to work within a small team that are responsible for all engineering aspects (from initial concept to introduction of service) for Aviation Safety Services.

To be considered for the role you must be a Systems Architect that has

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Technical fluency in telecommunications technologies
  • An understanding of IP-based mobile networking technologies and satellite systems
  • A strong analytical capability and the ability to conduct system engineering and technology trade-offs
  • Strong inter-personal skills including the ability to establish and maintain relationships and trust
  • The ability to work in a complex, international matrix organization alongside 3rd-parties

Any knowledge of networking technology including routers, switches, and firewalls would be desirable as would be

  • Any experience of working within a ISO27000 framework or equivalent
  • Any knowledge of PKI, software development and engineering techniques
  • Experience in the identification and capture of IT functional and non-functional requirements for large, complex projects
  • Any knowledge of satellite communications systems, Aeronautical Air Traffic Service domains

You will be Compiling  system design requirements for next generation safety service developments and producing system concepts, candidate architecture and conducting trade-off studies

As a Systems Architect, you will be adept at Creating detailed design specifications for use in competitive procurements for evolution of the client infrastructure and you should be used to managing suppliers for implementation, verification, and change management safety infrastructure

Other responsibilities will include defining /refining the operational model in planning for service introduction readiness, initial operations (e.g., customer Beta testing), and in-life service management metrics (KPIs) needed to demonstrate compliance with performance standards

Being able to Work with others within the Technology and Operations teams  will be second nature as will the ability to form strong technical relationships with peers at satcom avionic manufacturers, airframers, ESA, and other service providers
