Are you an experienced Network Engineer with a working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, and a Knowledge of IP Concepts such as TCP/UDP, Multicast, Routing, sub netting? Then this role could be for you.

Our client who has been at the forefront of global mobile satellite communications for over forty years is looking for an experienced Network Engineer who will provide second / third line support for their Aviation customers and help manage the aviation infrastructure to ensure maximum availability.

Working within team who are responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, life cycle of the equipment and maintaining the correct software releases, the successful will be a Network Engineer who has knowledge in working on datacentre devices, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls etc.

To be considered for the role the successful you will also have.

  • A Good understanding of 3GPP specification for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks
  • Experience in the telecommunication or IT industry with a strong Linux background
  • Good Knowledge of Juniper or CISCO routing equipment
  • Knowledge of IP Concepts (TCP/UDP, Multicast, Routing, sub netting)
  • An understanding of major system and network monitoring techniques (e.g., SNMP, System Polling)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and are able to communicate at all organizational levels.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent PC skills with good knowledge of MS Office, ServiceNow and associated processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

You will be a Network Engineer who will be happy and abler to support customers as part of an on-call rota supporting systems and customers 24/7 whist also being tasked with

  • Working on Incidents and problem management whilst interfacing with Field Support
  • Take on flight investigations to provide input for network optimisation.
  • Interfacing with the client’s Satellite and Mobile providers
  • Ensuring all network devices that are under the group are pro-actively monitored.
  • Working on Change Management validations, implementations, and assurance testing.
  • Ticket monitoring and regular, appropriate, updates
  • Ownership and coordination of tasks, processes
