IT Project Manager (Azure)
London / Kent

Based Remotely 3 - 4 days per week / Commuting into office
Salary to £50-£65k depending on experience

My client a large, growing Financial Management company, are looking for an experienced
IT Project Manager that have worked on projects that have introduced a Data Warehouse
solution in Azure in the past.

 

To be considered for this role you must have an accreditation and demonstrable
understanding of a recognised methodology such as PRINCE2 and AGILE. The successful IT

 

Project Manager will also need to have:

  • Significant experience in managing projects that use Azure databases, Data Factories and Pipelines

  • Substantial experience of project management delivery of SaaS and PaaS platforms (Azure, AWS, Google etc) within IT infrastructure and software development environments

  • A Working knowledge of DevOps functionality and development

  • Experience of working with data and analytics teams

  • Advanced experience of technical project management delivery within IT Infrastructure

  • Advanced experience of project management delivery of the implementation of business 3rd party products

  • A working knowledge of the UK financial services/regulatory sector is highly desired

  • A proven strong track record in successfully managing and delivering multiple, varied, and complex projects at once

  • Proven expertise in managing multi-function, multi-supplier teams to deliver successful medium to large scale projects

  • Proven history of managing 3rd party deliveries

  • Thorough knowledge of Project PPM toolsets

  • Excellent leadership skills to manage upwardly to senior executives as well as motivate core team members.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills both internal and external

 

You will be tasked with the following tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure strong and appropriate governance on projects working closely with business sponsors/stakeholders and IT leadership, ensuring effective kick-off and ongoing monitoring/reporting, whilst escalating as appropriate to ensure delivery to agreed outcomes

  • Be accountable for the delivery of solutions to agreed scope, quality, time, and budget criteria, proactively managing all associated risks and issues, and ensure that in design, development and deployment, customer and business needs are effectively managed and met

  • Maintain effective and timely communication and reporting with Sponsors, Senior stakeholders, and IT management via use of Steering Group meetings and status reporting, ensuring effective decision making to deliver the agreed business outcomes

  • Direct and manage teams of internal and external resources to deliver outcomes in the most efficient and effective way possible, ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities

  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle

  • Plan and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify, maintain, and review the RAID log, ensuring risk is assessed and monitored on an ongoing basis and issues are escalated effectively and managed to resolution

  • Ensure projects deliver in line with agreed IT PMO framework and IT standards e.g., ITIL/InfoSec & SoX.
